The Association:

Bahrain Association of Pathologist (BAP) was established in June 2001 as a chapter of Bahrain Medical Society.

The mission of Bahrain association of Pathologists:

Is to advance the science and practice of pathology in Bahrain, and to be response for maintaining international standards within the available resource, practice, through monitoring, training, training and continuous instructing professional development of laboratory sciences in Bahrain

The Objectives for which the Association is incorporated shall be to:

I. Advance the science and practice of pathology in Bahrain.

II. Promote better communication between pathologists in Bahrain, the Gulf countries ,the Arab region and pathologists of the world.

III. Provide up to date, high quality diagnostic and prognostic services to patients.

IV. Continually improve the quality of pathology service in Bahrain through Continuous quality impotents projects, audit and external Quality Assurance schemes.

V. Enhance the clinico-pathological correlations between pathologists and their colleagues and at the level of professional bodies, ie Bahrain Association of Pathologists and other Bahrain professional associations.

VI. Encourage research and study work in Pathology.

VII. Study and promote techniques of Pathology at the undergraduate level and postgraduate education to pathologists and other members of medical and paramedical professions.

VIII. Stress the vital, ongoing contribution of pathologists to modern practice of medicine.

IX. Take an active role in raising the public awareness about diseases in Bahrain in general and cancers in particular. Also to organize and monitor public education through formal lectures, visits and various parts of mass education including TV programmers, radio episodes and local general and professional papers and magazines.

XI. Support meetings and conferences for exchange of scientific information in different fields of Pathology.

XII. To take the responsibility of arranging between various organizations including Ministry of Health, Bahrain Defence Force Royal Medical Services, Bahrain Medical Society, and other important government and academic institutions to achieve the aforementioned objectives.
