The BAPs event is composed of two parallel symposia

I. Current Concepts in Gynaecological Pathology:

Objectives:

Speakers from the UK along with experts from the region will offer comprehensive reviews of various aspects of Gynaecologic Surgical Pathology, including the latest advances in the diagnosis of Gynaecologic malignancies such as ovarian, endometrial, cervical, lower genital tract malignancies, trophoblastic disorders as well as application of new diagnostic markers. Practical workshops and slide seminars will also be held.

Audience:

The symposium is intended for surgical/anatomic pathologists, pathology trainees, clinical pathologists and clinicians dealing with Gynaecologic disorders e.g. family physicians, gynecologists and oncologists.


II. Current Trends in the Acute Leukaemias and Myelodysplastic Syndromes:


Objectives:

The topics have been chosen to cover recent advances and current practice related to the laboratory and clinical aspects of malignancies of blood-forming cells of the bone marrow, the acute leukaemias, and disorders that may be pre-leukaemic conditions. The participants will be updated about current diagnostic and treatment modalities. Interactive workshops will cover morphologic, immunoflowcytometric and cytogenetic aspects of these disorders.

Audience:

All medical practitioners, specialists, resident doctors and trainees, medical teachers, haematologists and students who are interested in the diagnosis and management of leukaemia should attend.
